e.l.f Cosmetics Order Review

So after a long week waiting for my new makeup from e.l.f, it finally came last night! Needless to say, I spent my Friday night hanging out with myself and playing with my makeup. [Don't act like you're not jealous]. I felt the need to do a review of the items I purchased because some are just too good of a find to not share. I bought a 10 piece set of brushes (for $10), a 100 color eyeshadow palette (for $10), eye primer (for $1), and an eyebrow kit (for $3).

The only thing I am really disappointed in is the eye primer. It was 90% dried out and what wasn't dry was very shimmery  and too thin to prime your eyelid. The best way I can describe it is too runny. I like my primer to be thicker and creamy. Now, the consistency may be due to the fact that the bottle is mostly dried up, but regardless I will not purchase this item again. I will stick with my Kat Von D high voltage eye primer (for $15) or I may try the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion (for $18) because it has really great reviews. If you have tried these or any others that are worth trying, let me know below in the comments section. [I'm always looking for something better].
The set of brushes I got are pretty good. They are a little softer than I usually like but, hey, I got ten brushes for ten dollars =)
I also bought an extra smudge brush, because this set only came with the smudge sponge and I am not a fan of the sponge. I would recommend this set for anyone who is in need of a new set of brushes on the cheap cheap. But, if you have the money to spend, I will always stand by MAC brushes. Start with the ones you use most and expand from there.

So far, I like the eyebrow kit from e.l.f. I usually just use a dark brown eyeshadow but this kit is quickly growing on me. On the left is a pigmented wax you use to fill in and shape your eyebrows while also sticking them in place. On the right you have a finishing powder which keeps the eyebrows from looking shiny and waxy. I use my own brushes when applying these simply because I need a long handle when applying any and all makeup. The only reason I keep the small brushes that come with items like these is when I take my makeup on the go and can't really tote my normal sized brushes around with me. The brushes are decent quality, just not my cup of tea.

And now...for my favorite item out of this entire purchase [drumroll please]...the 100 color eyeshadow palette!!

My dear friends, I am in love. I obviously haven't tried all of the colors but I swatched a lot of them and they all have pretty good payoff. There is a nice mix of matte and shimmer shadows and all of the ones I have tried out/swatched already have a decent pigmentation. The best thing about this palette...TEN DOLLARS!!! I like to wear a lot of brown/bronze and this palette has a lot of browns in it. This is great palette if you're new to creating new looks with your eye makeup. It has 100 different colors for you to experiment with and [my favorite part] cheapy cheap!!

For any and all of these products visit:

They are currently running a special: Free 27 piece mini makeup collection with any $10 or more purchase! Whhhaaaaaat!?!? I love this site! Just enter the code MINI at checkout.

That's it for my e.l.f order. Overall, I was very impressed and I am sure I will continue to purchase their products. I hope this helped you in your decision to/not to purchase e.l.f products. Leave any questions, concerns, or comments below =)

  1. I love a lot of ELF stuff too. I would suggest the mineral eye primer, it's $3 but I think you might be happier with it. I find the consistency of it very similar to UDPP. I am excited to read about those shadows..I might have to add them to my next purchase list.
